Abstract

The article suggests a theoretical approach to the fretting – corrosion description with respect to the leaf springs block. This approach is based on consideration of the dislocation creep process, which is stimulated by the contact temperature and normal stress in the range of abrasive action. It is shown, that the curves demonstrating dependence between the microcracks length and the period of the fretting – corrosion process development are characterized by a fracture, caused by the substitution of the mechanism of wedge-shaped cavity “growth” due to dislocation arrays, by the mechanism of microcracks growth. The substitution is caused by increase of cavity size and normal stress rate.
